Systematic Wanderings is a series of images documenting locations found by a constructed journey of chance. The series consists of groups of three landscapes depicting locations found by following the same set of directions and having the same starting point, my home in Baltimore. Each time the directions are followed a new location is discovered through the opportunity of chance inherent in the nature of the directions.
The work speaks to the idea that sometimes no matter how much you plan, in life there are no guarantees as to where you’ll end up. It is about the journey and embracing wherever it takes you, knowing that you will never find the same place twice.
